Did you happen to have any thoughts regarding my previous post about improving or expanding the sound quality and functionality of the DP-X1 with a companion portable device?
Do you use the Balanced output?
.
I've pretty much always used the Balanced output, and there are very few portable amps which have a Balanced input - so I haven't really used add-on devices with my DP-X1.
Hi guys. I have recently bought the mojo 2 and tried connecting my onkyo do-x1 to it via usb but failed. I’ve used various micro usb to micro usb and micro to usb c otg cables including the ifi one but nothing happens. I’ve tried to go through all settings but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Maybe I’m overlooking something simple.
I've had frustrating issues with certain OTG cables and the DP-X1. Some just do not work at all. I did buy a couple of these from Amazon that work perfectly:
I recognize them now by those two little dots on the printer USB plug. They connect every single time to my Topping DAC's (E30, D30 Pro, and D50s). Also work with my Pioneer XDP-02U.
Balanced out is excellent indeed. Drives my new HD-600's superbly. Will do Beyer DT-1770/1990 to but it's right on the edge of not being enough, but it does work.
On another note, my batteries are not giving me problems yet but I fear the day I have to get inside. I will definitely attempt it when needed. These machines are incredible and it's a complete shame they will most likely never be made again.
My DP-X1B is rooted, and running the latest available Android 5.1.1 (Kernel v3.4.0 ; Build LMY47V).
It just updated to the newest Spotify v8.7.30.1221 today - but Tidal doesn't even show up in Google Play, as available to be downloaded.

I have Tidal on my DP-X1A which is running Android 5.1.1 Kernel version 3.4.0. Build # LMY47V
My Tidal version is: 2.31.0.1.1010.16
I usually listen to Tidal thru UAPP (v6.06.9) Tidal is also built into UAPP which is still available on Google Play.
I hope this info is of some use to you.

When I had a Tidal subscription (for about a year), I mainly used UAPP to access it.
But, since there's a wider variety of music that I want to listen to on Qobuz, I changed subscriptions, and still use UAPP to access the music.
As far as I can tell from memory, the X1a has a wider and deeper stage, it's also more detailed. At the same time, Norma has more macro, less detail and focuses on dynamic range.
