Thinking of getting the DPX1, but I worry that Tidal won't work when used as a transport to my Hugo.

Does anyone have any experience running onkyo as a transport to an amp?

I ask this because Tidal won't work when used as a transport from my Samsung Note 4 running Android 5.1.1

Have you tried using USB Audio Player Pro to output to your dac?

I have tried using it with the note 4 and while it works, it's a bit finicky. It won't play the songs I've searched and chooses to play another song in the album instead.

Sometimes I'm lucky and it will play the song I've selected if I play from an album, but this kind of playback ruins the experience :frowning2:

could someone clarify something for me:

how does balanced connection works? I assume that in order to have it, all has to be balanced... for example 4pin xlr balanced adapter to 2.5mm balanced will work. but I also seen some 3.5mm to 2.5mm balanced adapters? how would that work if 3.5mm is not balanced initially?

There are 3.5mm TRRS balanced capable connectors, I know I bought one because apparently I can't read.

Balanced must have a completely isolated + and - wire going to each transducer (4 total wires for stereo). Single ended would be sharing the ground so only needs 4 wires, + and for each channel and a shared -.

oh, good. that's what I assumed. I am sure there are some 3.5mm trrs balanced out there, I just was making sure...

Come on over to the DIY cable thread, lots of great advice and eye candy (some of which I need to be uploading).

Hello, I'm a small time cable maker and some people have requested 2.5mm balanced for the onkyo dpx1. The thing is I've done, from tip L+R+L-R- and the ak spec from tip R-R+L+L-. Both ways work with the onkyo player can anyone tell me why?

I would not thought they would and probably safest to stick to the recommended layout I would have thought.

I'm a bit late to the game but what is the exact name of the stock music player so that I can find it on the App Store to update? Is v1.0.2 the latest? Thanks

The app is called Music and it is by the Onkyo Corporation

That's what I thought but in the Play Store after I key in the word "Music" it gives me a whole lot of choices but I don't see the stock player.

EDIT: Okay found it. Key in the word "Onkyo" and scroll for it.
Sorry but I dislike Android.

I like to delete as many apps as possible because I use this to play music not to do ANY other thing. Can I delete these two apps - Google Play Services 92.66MB and Google App 50.96MB? What do they do?
