Onboard sound power

What is the processing power of Intel onboard audio? If the PC is a 32 bit processor does that mean that the built in sound is 32 bits? That seems wrong considering most DACs seem to be 24 bit.

I think the power output varies from motherboard to motherboard. I also think that using on board sound should be illegal.

The capabilities of the onboard sound is independent of the CPU you have installed. Perhaps you should look at the specifications of your motherboard to find out what sort of onboard sound chip is installed. However if your computer was built within the last 2 years then it's safe to assume that the onboard sound is capable of 24-bit at 96KHz.
