On a mission to like jazz

I ran into Robert Glasper's name in some article. Found 6 albums on Tidal. Too soon to point to a favorite album but I am enjoying his toe-tapping music. Then I searched through this thread and found his name mentioned once in 2017. Could also just be the search doesn't find posted youtube videos with no text.

Try following Miles Davis career. He played with just about everybody and got a lot of peoples careers going. Also, if you like more modern stuff, check out Robert Glasper, Ben Wendel, Kurt Rosenwinkel.

personally I'm not a Chet Baker fan ok for reading as long a he doesn't sing :)

Yes, Chet Baker is a great trumpet player, but his singing... ??? Any other artist this minimally gifted as Chet would habe been banned from all recording studios :). Nevertheless, I do like him. My favourite is Chet Baker/Bill Evans: The Complete Sessions. No singing there :)
