The sound seperation ( sound stage ) and the bass beats the 555's outta this world. The 555's are nice, but it doesnt compare to the a900 at all.....Im talking about music...damn...is so comfortable also....

Yeah the A900 is quite the all arounder for under $200. Enjoy it.

Yea i have both...I bought the 555's and it was pretty good, but i was craving for more bass and sound seperation for gaming. The A900 is so much better in terms of sound seperation and bass.

I only have my MDR-D66's to compare with, but I would say the bass is definately there big time. It seems when I switch to my D66's it's like coming back from a humid city back to a dry city (the mids/highs on the D66's are crisp and less "humid" compared to the A900's).
Sorry for the weird analogy.

Hmm...

I bought the HD555 not too long ago, but I was also considering the A900. Would it really be worth it to sell my HD555 and scrape together some extra cash for the A900? Jeez, and I thought I had just gotten over upgrade-itis...

Hey tmi.....It really depends on what you mainly use the cans for. If its strictly for music listening, then 555 would do you good.

A900 gives me more bass/ and more sound stage. I think the a900 is more comfortable for my head type......I also like their string like wires compared to the 555 wires......

so for me, it was WAAAYYY worth it....

I didnt expect the a900 to be that big of a difference, but it was night and day when compared ot the 555's for me though.....Im sure some people would argue with me though.

By the way, the A900 is even better when its burned it? Cant wait...

It's not arguable, but your ears are just accepting Audio Technica sound signature more then sennheiser LIKE ME. And it looks that you are damn impress by your new purchase. In my openion both cans are great. And it depends on taste and sence.

take also in account a900 is close-type
