Mine is the old version S4, I do not like the word neutral, I would rather say they are natural in their sound.
Not really crazy about the new version, the bas is to boring for my taste and they are a bit to bright also, it is a taste thing, they play well for sure, but I very much prefer the old version..

Hi. A balanced cable will work just fine with the Ollo's. They're easy to drive; so they dont necessarily need the extra power. But if that's what you like it go for it.

I just realized that I never talked about the S4R v 1.1.

Unfortunately the newer version lost the bass. Like I hear almost none. I would have sold it long ago but it has my company logo printed on it. I never listen to it though. I really enjoyed the original S4R though…sigh.
