Hi guys, I just found an old soundcard in working condition in my closet that I forgot about. It's about 2-3 years old I think. It's called a:

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS

I'll list the specifications written on the box (I don't understand them so hopefully you will lol):

- 24-bit digital-to-analog conversion during playback with sampling rates of 8, 11.025, 16, 22.05, 24, 32, 44.1, 48 and 96kHz in 7.1 mode and up to 192kHz in stereo mode.

- 24-bit analog-to-digital conversion during recording in 8, 16 or 24-bit at sampling rates of 8, 11.025, 16, 22.05, 24, 32, 44.1, 48 and 96kHz

- SPDIF output up to 24-bit at 48 or 96kHz

- ASIO drivers for low latency (<2ms) multi-track playback and recording at 16-bit/48kHz

Ok so that's what's on the box for specifications, and my motherboard onboard sound is Realtek High Definition Audio, the motherboard is a:

Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L P45+ICH10 DDR2 1200 1600MHz PCI-E 2.0 SATAII GLAN 8Ch Audio ATX Ultra Durable

Ok so what are your thoughts? Thanks!

I'm using one of those that I picked up 3-4 years ago, and even being old, it's a huge improvement over onboard sound. Granted, it won't match a good external DAC, but definitely worth using over onboard.

GAH! apparently it's broken... The sound is REALLY fuzzy, and I've tested it in multiple PC's. Is there any way to fix this? I think it had something to do with a lightning strike that happened a while ago! Would it be possible to pay to get it repaired? Would I just need to buy a new one? Really tight on money at the moment so yeah, I'd prefer the cheapest option lol. thanks
