old panasonic pcdp (SL-SW405)

Hey all

While my rio karma is being sent back to america for repair, I have a choice of either my old panasonic SL-SW405 cd player combined with a mint amp on the line out, or one of those newer sony mp3-cd players.

Does anyone have any opinion at all of the SL-SW405?

What sony players are you looking at?
I can almost guarantee that panasonic'll be better sounding, though.

heh, my dad has a similar model, except his is blue.

basically, (i've listened to his a long time ago a few times...) it will be good enough for the time that you're rio karma will be sent back to repair. It's a crummy pcdp (but almost all new pcdps are crummy nowadays, anyway), but it will serve its purpose well.
