The ATH-AD900X vs AKG Q 701 which one is better? Unless there is another i missed?

If you end up unhappy with that one for whatever reason(s), then go for K612.

What type of listening? How will you be using them?
 
For $200 it's hard to beat the DT 990 Pro's (more like $160). In fact I just picked up the Premium DT 990's for $230 brand new (eBay).
 
Pair them with a small tube amp and you are good to go!
