Village Green Preservation Society is my personal favorite, but I don't know enough about their corpus to claim it's their best. My pal Brian Wilson [no joke, that's his name] is currently infatuated with Muswell Hillbilly.

Great thread! I've only got Everybody's in Showbiz. I had no idea where to go next until now. btw, there are 3 fantastic songs on that cd. There are at least as many pretty good songs there too, so I'd recommend it.

Everybody's in Showbiz is my second favorite! Which 3 songs are the ones you're talking about?

My personal favorite, for some god-knows-why reason, is "Schoolboys in Disgrace". It's a pretty hokey album, but it's my favorite. "The Last Assembly" always chokes me up!

Right now, I'm big into sing-a-long type songs That's why I love Sitting In My Hotel, Supersonic Rocket Ship, and Celluloid Heroes.
