there's quite a bit of hype around of their (his?) new album, Regard The End, even our own authority on 'classic rock' likes em (Mart Smeets, sports-reporter, writer, and all-round rolemodel of the sigar-smoking, whiskey-drinking, Neil Young-worshipping 50yr old cool guy). very positive review in Uncut too, for what it's worth.

anyway, what's the scope on this band?

Man, I love those guys!

Well, I guess it's really a guy named Robert Fisher and a revolving cast of friends and house guests :)

I have two CDs, Flying Low and Everything's Fine and have to admit that they are a bit uneven, but when they are on, they're one of my favorites. I think Flying Low is the best of those two but the opening track on Everything's Fine, which is called Notes From The Waiting Room, is worth the price of the CD for me. A stunning song that knocks me out every time I hear it and it's not even 3 minutes long. Haven't heard the new one though, or Mojave from a few years ago either, although I did recently get a comp from a buddy that had a pretty cool song from that album on it.

Speaking of comps, you may be interested in reading the description I wrote for one of mine called Twilight that had a Willard Grant Conspiracy song and some other similar artists. It's posted at http://members.mailaka.net/davey/comps.htm#Twilight. Hit me with a PM or e-mail if you want to talk about the comp.

NP: Built To Spill - Perfect From Now On along with a couple or so bottles of Warsteiner just to get into the holiday spirit
