I JUST finished my cmoy. You could imagine my excitement as I flipped the switch, but what I heard...was a combination of radio, nasty static sounds, a shrill noise that was changing in pitch, and a sick mockery of what my music once sounded like! Please help me, I'm sobbing right now, tell me what to do! I have a feeling that its because I didn't ground the pot. But I need some professional opinions. Thanks

Try grounding the pot... Then check *all* your solder connections. They should be shiny and smooth and conical. If they have any dark/black spots, *resolder* them.

If that didn't work, make sure you got the wiring right. Then make sure you used the right resistors.

That pretty much covers all the problems I've had building amps...
