It came with these styrofoam walls that disintigrated when the amp bumped into them in shipping. So hundreds of little tiny styrofoam crumbs went everywhere, finding their way in through all the holes and vents in the darkvoice, and they got in all through the circuits and wires of the inside.

I feel silly asking about this here. But I couldn't even get the bottom off the thing to try to get inside.

once all the screws were out, the bottom panel was still stuck. but even then, how can i get all the styrofoam crumbs out of the insides? they're not just going to fall out, its like a maze in there.

a vacuum cleaner?

im sure someone here's got some brilliant ideas.

im afraid to turn it on lest the foam melts and sticks forever!

Sounds like the bottom is stuck on. I would pry it off gently, or at least apply a little bit of pressure to see if it will pop off. I would blow it out, you sure don't want all that styrofoam getting hot and melting. they should have wrapped the amp in a plastic bag.

Even one of these crumbs could be pretty bad right? I think im going to have to take all the parts out and clean them individually....not looking forward to it. The only thing I know when I open the amp is "hmm amp parts" lol

Nah, I hate the smell when it gets toasted and those toxic fumes. . .

well the bottom definitely won't pry off. It is stuck at both ends, right in the middle, under the white stickers with chinese writing. Maybe the stickers say "do not remove". If i pry any harder, i'll bend the metal...

poor hf1's. all they want is to go home to their new dark mother.

Yeah, best to clean those things all out before powering up. You wouldn't want to melt/burn one inside your precious new amp.

EDIT--
There might be more screws under the sticker. Many companies do this so that they know if you've opened up the device yourself, thus voiding the warranty.

you're definitely right systeX. Hmmm. I guess I'll have to void the warranty then. that sucks!
