OMG, I just got Silence, and ive been listening to it over and over and over and you get the point. I have this for maybe a day, and it is my new favorite CD.

Nice. I dunno though, I tried some Sonata Arctica after hearing raves about it and it didn't really appeal to me. I'm really picky about the Metal I like though.

If you like Sonata Arctica or any Finnish power metal band for that matter, check out Stratovarius: it's the band they all ripped off.

I like what I've heard of Stratovarius a lot more. Maybe I should look more into them

Yeah, they're the standards, although you can clearly trace their influences back to Malmsteen, Helloween, Maiden, etc. Sonata obviously has the same style, but I wouldn't say they're "ripping off" Strato unless we talk about songs that seem to be copied, or something like that.
