Hello, i just downloaded an album off emule in Ogg format. I would like to get this on my iPod with the least possible quality loss. Is there a way to convert the ogg to apple lossless? The only way I can think of is converting the ogg to wav, then burning it, then rip the CD in iTunes but that is a hassle. Thanks!
I've never used Ogg, but I believe it is a "lossy" codec like mp3, acc, etc. If that is true, conversion to ALAC will not improve the sound quality because lossy codecs achieve reduction in file size by removing data, rather than simply compressing data. ALAC and Flac are lossless, but achieve smaller file size than Wav by compression only.

This is all true, but if he goes from Ogg to MP3, that will sound really bad. transcoding between lossy codecs is a huge no-no.

Thanks alot you guys, im converting it right now using the DBpoweramp plugin.
Why? You can not improve the sound quality, you can only change the format. Basically you're wasting space with no improvment.

Gotcha: misunderstood your post. Sounds like you have it under control.
