I'd love to hear from someone with the 5.5 gen + SD cards. I'm afraid the mSata SSD is way too much of a hassle for me, I have heard that the battery life is finnicky and that you can't let the battery drain otherwise the SSD starts going crazy. Is that true?

I have a 5.5 gen with 2 x 512 SD cards, Tarkan Dual, 1,900 battery. Been working perfectly for 2 years without a single issue using Rockbox and OF to transfer files.

I've got a 5.5 with iflash dual (PNY 512 x 2) & the 2000mah battery. Been working great for years.

Not with the Samsung 850EVO and Tarkan's latest version adapter. With the old 840, yes.

I'm using a 2000mAh battery and it can last for about 8 hours I would say. Keep in mind that I listen to wav files only and keep the display "on" all the time.

Agreed. I don't think one sounds better than the other. They only sound different. I love the sound of both but prefer the sound of the 7th. And yes, I'm an audiophile...

Both, but mainly through the headphone jack.
