@sahmen,
Thanks for your detailed reply. I like the “relaxed” sound of the v1. I tried the v2 in a show to find out I perder the v1 sound. I even bought the v2 pads and listened to the v1 with them but went back to the v1 pads.

I use either a Lazuli Reference or Nordost Heimdall II cable.

I guess I need to find a way to listen to the se first.

Thanks again.

Most of our crew here in UK enjoyed the V2 better. It was more open and articulate to them.

Yep the v2 is clearly better sounding than the v1 IMO. I never liked the original HE1000 TBH. The SE is even better than the v2 and very close to the performance of the Susvara, but without its demand of a lots of power.

Alright, since you've said it, 'clearly better' is the description we'd use as well:ksc75smile:

No hard feelings towards V1, when it came out it was an easy upgrade over HD 800. So different, but also more enjoyable to listen to and nowhere near as demanding.

I never have had any hard feelings towards V1 I just didn’t like it very much :sunglasses:. The same with the HD800, but it sure has/had other almost opposite SQ problems IMO.

As I wrote in another thread. The right channel of my SE is dead after owning the SE for nine months. I hope that Hifiman will solve this issue properly.

I'm almost 100% certain that they will solve the problem for you (unless you have done something to the cans that will void the warranty, which you do not appear to have done). I think you should contact their customer service immediately to report the problem though. The sooner you do that, the better, for obvious reasons.:)

I had the same thing happen to the left channel with my HEKV2 after about 2 years. I contacted Customer Service, and HiFiMan USA took care of it immediately. My unit was still under warranty (a little less than 2 years after purchase), and they promptly replaced it with a new pair. All I had to do was send them the defective unit. I experienced outstanding customer service.

This was the first thing I did before posting here. I wrote to customerservice and hope for your answer coming soon. I didn´t use my SE for two weeks. Just taking them on again after my holiday - and the right channel didn´t work anymore.
