Is there anyone else on this forum that likes to take their vehicles off road. I just got my jeep back on the road after replacing a few drive train parts and installing a 3" lift.

I have taken my jeep through a few deep mud holes (slightly above my bumper) and like playing around in trails and gravel pits.

What kind of vehicle do you drive, and where do you like to go?

I haven't been off road much lately but once I buy my F-250 it's on!

I used to take my Silverado Z71 off road but nothing too serious... just mud and some mid level trails. It had 6" fabtech and 33" Toyo's.

Two of my friends have modded Jeeps from the 80s (81 and 85) and we go off-roading in the Rockies during the summer from time to time. It's always a f-ing blast. The picture below is the '85 beast - it's raised and has 38" tires on it, if I remember right. Unfortunately, I'm not in the picture...

My first vehicle was an 86' Ford Bronco XL. Originally it was at stock height and had 32x12.50 BFGs on it. When I got it I put about 4.5" of height on with a custom suspension lift with Rancho shocks and steering stabilizers. It started out with a 351 Windsor and ended up with a really hot balanced 400M. Front and rear lockers and a custom drivetrain. 35" Dick Cepeks on custom powder-coated black steel rims.

Most middle-aged men would have given away their crappy marriages in a midlife crisis to have what I had when I was 16. If only I would have got a Honda Civic I would have avoided a bunch of trouble

. I did things that should only be attempted by a professional driver on a closed course. Well after five years of rediculous driving and repair bills, I was driving down the highway and the timing chaing broke resulting in a cataclismic end to the usefullness of the motor. I sold it for $1500 and moved on to a nice little 2WD 2.0L GMC Sonoma.
