Hi,
I finally decided I'd gotta try it, so I received the ety ER4P to S adaptor cable today. I've been using the Oehlbach adaptor. Showered, cleaned my ears and off I went.
In with the foamies, had I wasted my money?
NO. I have been switching backwards and forwards between the two, playing Led Zep, Aerosmith, AC-DC, Cat Stevens etc.
The ety adaptor(IMHO) gives a more open sound, vocals seems cleaner and more together, highs a little more "tingly", bass seems more distinct, and dare I say it, a little deeper.
The other effect is that the ety adaptor gives a higher sound level.
Equpment used Zen Xtra, MP3 encoded alt-preset-insane, Meier Porta Corda 11 in class A.
To sum up, the correct adaptor realises the full potential of the eties.
PS Drooling over Ultimate Ears/Sensaphonics and eagerly awaiting Lindhomes review.
Cheers
John
