Will update this thread from time to time when new DAPs are announced / leaked.

Lotoo PAW Gold

Highlights:
 DSD support
 22wh battery
 USB 3.0
 High precision clock
 Powerful amp (500mW @ 32Ω per channel)
 Parametric EQ
 Sapphire glass
 24k-gold plated controls
rolleyes.gif

 Release date: unknown

Claimed by the manufacturer to be a 'reference grade' player (and despite the hideous looks), this thing is gonna cost an arm and a leg (think USD $2000 level).

It's funny because Lotoo was a audio recorder manufacturer and virtually unknown in the head-fi community, and now they want to compete with iRiver...

P.S.: An interesting tidbit about Lotoo: A while ago HIFIMAN claimed Lotoo copied one of the original designs of the HM901 for one of the products (not this PAW Gold I think). You can read more about this here (Chinese only).

IHIFI770

http://www.i-hifi.com/770en.html

An interesting but lesser known budget DAP from Xuelin of IHIFI960 fame, its equipped with a single WM8740 and comes with two POs with different sound signatures.  According to this review of an engineering sample, the sound is decent but the device suffers from crappy UI.

It costs RMB 999 and is available in China now.

QLS QA360

Head-fi discussion thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/708636/qls-qa360-another-dsd-capable-dap

Copied from manufacturer's page:
QLS QA360 Portable HiFi lossless music player is QLS-HiFi’stop line digital music playback equipment that integrated digital music player, DAC and headphone amplifier altogether. QA360 is based on the QA660&QA860 digital music player with dedicated improvementon the digital output circuit, along with the DAC and headphone amplifier module which we spent over 3 years on developing.

It is an all-in-one portable SD card HiFi wav music player, It offers studio-master-tape sound quality and uncompromising file playback capability, It has a high quality DAC and headphone amplifier integrated into its tiny body. The headphone output is able to drive most 8-300Ω headphone in the market.

Check out the QLS's website for pre-order info (see link above)

Aune M1

The M1 is a 16/44.1 WAV-only player from Aune (Hifidiy). Comes in two versions: standard and deluxe version.

AFAIK the only difference between the two versions is the oscillator used.

Highlights:
Swappable DAC: Comes with PCM1793 at launch,  may support ES9018, ES9023, AD1955, WM8741, TDA1543 in the future.
Swappable amp card, much like HIFIMAN
  Pretty powerful amp: 700mW@32Ω
Good battery life: can drive HD650 for 8 hours (volume at 12 o' clock)
  Low-jitter oscillator

Cons:
Support SD card up to 32G only (!)
  No hi-res support
  WAV-only...

Musiland Monitor 04/06 MX

The latest USB DAC/amp combos from Musiland that double as DAPs

Both 04 and 06 support PCM up to 32/384 (WAV, FLAC, APE, MP3) and DSD.

An interesting feature found on them is a new digital audio transfer protocol called MULINK (developed by Musiland, I suppose. More info here) that is capable of transferring native DSD64 and DSD128 to other MULINK-enabled devices.

The 06 MX uses PCM1798 for D/A conversion while the 04 MX has a PCM5102A.

Shanling M3

For those who are not familiar with the company,  Shanling is a HI-FI equipment designer and manufacturer (CD players, amps) based in Shenzhen, China.

An interesting thing about the design is the volume control which doubles as a control wheel. Shanling says the idea came from traditional lighters.

Eros H06

Eros is a sub brand of Aigo, which is a pretty well known manufacturer of an wide array consumer electronic devices such as cameras, MP3 players, GPS, tablets, audio recorders etc.

The H06 is Eros first DAP (and perhaps the very first product of any kind). Not much is known except that it will have 2 MicroSD card slots.

Opera Consonance have a DAP!?!?

Must investigate this....

May 30, 2014 at 8:59 AM Post #9 of 8,095
Just looked...

...they even have a special in-car DAP (never seen one of those before).

Must get one for my '90 928GT!

I'll probably take a pass on the Suzanne (already have a DX50 and iPC+PHA-1, can't really justify another one).

I'll check this out on my next trip to Beijing.

A bit background info - Lotoo is the same company as Infomedia. Lotoo is their consumer brand, where Infomedia is their pro-audio brand. They are known as the OEM for Nagra, the Swiss based company that is known for their pro level portable recorder. In case you still wonder, Nagra is the brand of audio recorder / player they used inside the movie 'Inception' when they go into the dream world.

Also want to introduce you guys to this: AUNE M1, from HiFiDIY.net: http://bbs.hifidiy.net/thread-924292-1-1.html
