I was initially outraged when he tried to release this book, as I believed him to be guilty and profiting from his crimes.

This is great though...the proceeds go to a foundation one of the victim's families have set up.

I was always curious about how Simpson rationalized the murders and how everything happened, so I'm actually interested in reading this now.

I was curious how he rationalized the murders as well. Definitely not to purchase his book, but on the other handat least it goes to a foundation setup by the victims family. I would be pretty upset if you started to pocket the money and profit off of his evil deeds. I'm wondering how the public will receive this book.

It's still shocking and appauling. Maybe he's not financially profiting, but he's still gloating to the world how he got away with murder. Repugnant, on several levels.

Well believe it or not, I'll probably be picking this up. Frankly, I'm curious--and a personal or moral issue with the author isn't going to keep me from fulfilling that curiosity. It should be a fascinating read.

Admire your honesty anyway.

I still think O.J.'s original plan was reprehensible, as he is.

However, what is the issue with picking up the book now? Simpson doesn't profit any more and a charitable foundation now receives the proceeds. Let some good come out of the horror...Simpson is revealed for the monster he is, and money goes towards a good cause.

What's the difference now between buying the book and any other true crime novel?

Difference being the murderer didn't write the other books.

I'm not buying the charity bit, either.

Exactly. That's what is going to make this one so much more fascinating and thrilling. < flame suit on> And frankly, I don't care where the money goes--those who have a strong moral objection to it won't buy the book, and those of us that don't have such an objection will buy the book. The world will go on, and O.J. will remain a schmuck, regardless. <flame suit off>

The book was leaked the first time it was going to be published and has been available on Bittorrent for a quite a while. I'll admit to have read it -- I don't feel reticent about circumventing copyright here.

This isn't really a spoiler, but it turns out that the details of the murder are almost the same as Wmcmanus' story about beating some guy in the "have you been to jail?" thread.

The title should be "If I'm in Prison."
