I think I've got about 80 albums.....tho....do they have to be originals? About 20/80 are cds burnt from my local library - it has some real gems (like the remaster of My Favorite Things by Trane!).

Well, I photocopy the cover. And this is "pure stuff" - EAC'ed, than burnt......in some cases, my burnt copies are audibly better than the library's originals since the originals have so many scratches they skip constantly.......

I even photocopy the liner notes on discs I really like.

Originals - still in the 50-100 bracket........meh.....

I remember when I first started posting at Headwize, I only had about 20 CDs. Then I kept getting more and more, slowly at first, then more quickly. After I got my HP-1s, I've been buying much more CDs, at least 2 per week. Now I have about 130 CDs, and all are originals.

Around 2000 CD's. Nearly all original. Have around 20-25 copies. Definitely no MP3 stuff, don't even get me started on the sonics of MP3.

Also got around 4-500 LP's. Maybe 150 Minidisc of various stuff.

I tend to have splurges on CD's. I can go for maybe a month without so much as looking in a record shop and then spend days in the places. This weekend my local HMV store were having a sale and I picked up 8 Neil Young CD's to add to my collection for only £45 so I think I did quite well.

I don't think it's the size of a persons music collection that counts, rather what's in it than anything else. Of course, the bigger your collection the more cd's you have to match your exact mood at that precise moment. I have some stuff on the shelf that hasn't been in a player for maybe two years but I won't part with it because I know that it's always there to be listened to when the mood takes me.

Sound As Ever.

A little over 600 commercial cds, roughly 100-150 LP's and over 400 bootlegs (live concerts).

Lets see:

275+ CDs
500+ LPs
3 drawers, 2 45count cabniets, and 2 briefcases of tapes.

Now I know why my wife is getting upset!

Over 200 at last count and I know that I've bought more since then!

I've come along way since my dad kept telling me "You've GOT to buy more stuff than the new Magnum cd you know"

Problem was I knew the sort of stuff I liked back then thing was I couldn't find it, once that changed there was no stopping me.

I have about 55 real CD's.

And then I have about 40 crappy burnt CD's. Lately I have been hearing some great arguments against downloading mp3's instead of buying an album, and so my conscience is starting to kick in.

Meanwhile, I am looking forward to buying a couple albums:

Incubus - 'Morning View' (I have it burnt from mp3's to bridge me over until then)
Incubus - 'S.C.I.E.N.C.E.' (waiting for the remastered version - is it out yet, coolvij?)
Matthew Good Band - 'Loser Anthems EP'
Matthew Good Band - 'Beautiful Midnight' (meanwhile I have been borrowing these two albums from my brother for the last year or so...hehehe)
Radiohead - 'Amnesiac' (I knew I should've bought it when it was $9.99 CDN at Future Shop)
The Strokes - 'Is This It' (burnt it for now)
Spiritualized - 'Let It Come Down'
Powderfinger - 'Odyssey Number Five'
Pete Yorn - 'Musicforthemorningafter' (i have the last 5 albums mentioned on mp3...but one day, I'll get the REAL albums)

....Oh, the disadvantages of not having a job....
