Does anyone know if there is a set number Justin is planning to produce?
Also, any idea of the number of Blue Hawaii amps made in the past?

There were 12 of the original BH amps made AFAIK and the BHSE will be in regular production once the first two lots have shipped. The price will be higher though then the initial amps.

Do you know if Justin has a firm shipping date for the first group yet?
Also, any additional information on the differences as compared to the BH?

They should ship soon but there is no firm date set. There are quite a few suppliers that make all the parts needed for the chassis and last I heard that was what's holding them up.

The basic circuitry of the amps is very similar but the BHSE has a lot of refinements as well as some new stuff. There is a time delay on the B+ for the tubes, a new CCS, increased thermal stability and better chassis. It's also got better transformers and with the RK50 option a much better volume control. The external PSU also adds the possibility of an upgraded PSU which I don't know if Justin will sell but I will certainly make one for my self.

Justin as of March 2007 told me that he would build just 10 KGBH SE units. Then in November 2007 upped the number by 3, making it a total number of 13 units. Since then he have decided to make it into regular production. Probably producing as many units as he have buyers for.

1 1/2 years later I am still waiting for the initial picture of the end result.
