First off, I know there is old threads for all different types of headphones but they are all dated from about 2010 and earlier.

I am looking for headphones for gaming. I play the occasional fortnite and I play a lot of competative call of duty and when I'm not I will probably be listening to music or watching a movie..

So at the start I looked at the astro a50s and basestation and the steel series arctis pro wireless because I would prefer a wireless headset.. After reading reviews I decided that I would get the astro a40 with mixamp tr or the arctis pro + gamedac but now I have ruled out astro and am keeping steelseries in mind.

Now that I have steelseries arctis pro wireless that set my price range £300. After reading reviews on this and soundguys and other audio websites I found the dt990 pros and the the creative e5 or g5 sound blaster amp. After looking into both I picked the g5 because I don't not have a need for it to be portable. After picking this amp I looked further into combos and came across the sennheiser hd598 which seemed to have everything good about them.. Back and forth between the hd598 and the dt990s i went back to the 990s and decided i would pair them with the astro mixamp.

Now i have read mad lust envys headphone review and came across the akg q701, k701, k612, k712 and a pair of audio technica ad700x and now this is where I am stuck..

What would be a good amp/dac and headphone bundle for around £250 as i already have picked up my mic.

Any help appreciated

I would personally look into a K702/K7XX plus a Magni 3/Modi 2 stack. That would be a nice setup for you and should be close to within budget.
The modi and magni are £120 ($150) for each when they were in stock but atm I can't find there anywhere in stock and I don't want to pay import / customs or anything like that:frowning2: If I did get that combo what do I do with my mic? plug it directly into the ps4 or the pc?

Get the AD700X. The AKGs are comparatively considerably harder to drive, including the K7XX. With the AD700X your primary concern really is just low output impedance, not getting 512mW to each channel.
