Long story short, I just got a RME ADI-2 DAC.
And I love it.
I have 2 young kids, and I like listening to my music pretty loud. That being said, I want my kids to sleep! (more than me having a good time listening to my tunes)
The 800s's are like open speakers.
I don't want to get rid of them, I would like an alternative in closed back.
I also own E-mu Teaks and they are getting a lot of listening time these days. (love em)
I love instrumental, rock, alternative
Any suggestions?

Thanks

I understand, i'm not trying to compare, simply get an Idea of what is out there on the market as a good pair of closed back

I would look into the ZMF Blackwoods. They are very clear with decent punch in the sub-bass regions. Decently wide sound-stage as well. My only gripe about them is their weight. It's hard to find a headphone as comfortable as the Sennheiser series!

So, I imagine everyone pushing for the 820's actually tried or own a pair?
I was looking into the LCD -XC any comments about them?

Not in my case but if you're saying you like your HD800S but need closed back...

And I do understand the logic, but in Canada, they are 3500$... I paid less than half for my 800s's... I'm not willing to fork out that type of $. I should have specified that in my intro text, my bad!

Other than noise cancelling, your only choice for true non leakage is an iem
