They are good, they do sound good, but the high bass/mid-bass impact is poor... Low bass is excellent , mid-range and treble is excellent also, but the lack of mid-bass/bass impact/punch makes it less interesting to listen to music... i dont know if an amplifier could solve the problem? am I the only one with this problem?

Agreed on the amp... they're definitely better afterward. How many hours have you put on them?

For me only real bass is the deep, guttural bass. But I dont exactly find them too punchless in the midbass either.

I wasn not impressed either. As a result I was reluctant on the Edition 9's, but of course boy was I wrong.

Hi MaZa, I cant stop listening to my Sony MDR-SA5000 they are such an awesome can.

It took me 13 months and about 20 different headphones to find them.

Enjoy! But remember this thread is about Pro/proline 750.

It played for about 1hour for now ... I remember listening to a can in a music store(the best I have heard), and all the songs sounded awsome, dynamic lot of tight punch with excellent bass with no distortion, everything was so clear, I came back to my place and listened to my system and it dindt sound anywhere near it. was probably amplified, but still, the pro750 makes me wanna hear my system instead the headphones... I think its very sad that a high end gear such as the PRO750 can't supply the real punch that we suppose to hear.... I find it more suited for movies instead of music.

Let it burn in couple of days. Leave it playing some bass intensive songs (some metal, if you have some, with very strong and fast doublebass is excellent for this stuff, lots of non-stop bass impact stress for the driver.) on normal listening levels (or slightly above). You can listen them normally too of course, (and you might pick the possible changes that way too) but when not listening, leave them doing their burn-in procedure.

Well I am using an amplifier with my recabled 780s and I guess I am just not enchanted with the sound signature of the Ultrasones :/

I have only had them for 2 days but they are fully burned in, I will give them some more time to see if they grow on me.

So the OP isn't alone, I am not entirely impressed, especially at the price of the cans new.

My advice is to find something you can plug into a wall as your primary amp.

Most amps will drive the Ultrasones to nigh ear bleeding levels, they need lots of current to shine. There's a ton of amps listed in the ultrasone thread. I personally enjoyed both the EC/SS and Original Electronics Master driving mine.

that's just an indication of them being underpowered. they sounded a lot better in the store because they were probably amped. mine have punch and deep bass but they don't add punch where there isn't any. most other bassy cans i've heard add their own bass to the music (especially cheaper headphones).
