it is already available on Creative's website. If it does show up, I would guess before the holiday shopping season. however, there is speculation that creative won't be selling their products in B&M stores.

Anyone know if it has this through the dock or anything? Is the headphone jack on the player pretty good? I plan on using ER4P unamped most of the time.

Additionally, I know that there is no sort of 'scroll acceleration' on the previous models. Has there been any word of wether or not this will be updated for the larger capacity versions? This is pretty much the only issue stopping me from ordering one right now.

Thanks a lot.

Well, I got impatient and just ordered the black/white 16GB V plus. I hope that finding stuff on there is not too slow, but apparently songs are searchable, so that doesn't sound too bad. Hopefully though some sort of power scroll feature will be released with a software update.

Here goes for my first mp3 player...
Thanks for helping me choose it.

It'll be pretty fast as you can navigate by alphabetic letter, so if you want to find an artist beginning with S you won't have to search through A-R to get there.

Really prompt shipping from the Creative site. I ordered this Monday night and it arrived around eleven this morning, even with using the slowest, free shipping option.

I am going to wait for my laptop to get here later this week before putting music on it, but I'll try to post impressions when I do.

I finished ripping CDs last night and have been playing with the V plus for a few hours now.

I don't think there are any differences between the recently released 16GB version and the other V pluses which have been out longer, but here you go:

The build on this is great. Size, materials and heft are really nice. The screen is a little small, but it's worth it since the player itself is so small.

Navigation is easy. I still felt that I was picking up on the nuances a couple hours into using it, so it does not have the master-in-a-minute feel of ipods, but at the same time there is more to do.

The biggest thing which makes me love this is being able to make playlists on the go. I can scroll through my library and hit 'add to selected' on any song which looks cool, put it in my pocket and forget about it. Really, really convenient.

Photos and video are cool too. The screen size makes it not an ideal device for visuals, but they are nice extras. Throw a video clip or two on there in order to show off to friends, but I don't think I'll be watching movies on here. If you want to be impressed by a video of a jellyfish I made at the Monterey Bay Aquarium though, just ask

I am still haven't decided which media player to use for syncing with my computer. The Creative software and Windows Media Player both seem fine, but neither are great. The search function on WMP is cumbersome enough to make me not want to use it.
