i've never had any problems with my aviators, be it the cable or the sound. it all sounds great to me. the bass isn't uncontrollable, in fact, it's the least amount of bass i've ever heard in a SC headphone. it's there if you want it, not if you don't. definitely has a punch. the rest of the spectrum sounds great to me. different strokes, different folks.

Oh the knife in my avatar is a Hinderer Xm-18 3" with a regrind. Never got the chance to write an introduction, but before I started browsing Head-Fi, knives were my main hobby.
