Hi Folks...
A while back I posted up as a "CMOY Noob" asking for a little help modding the circuit... add a "passive mono i/p". Tangent & GDodder and others were kind enough to reply....
I promised them a little ****...
BUT, I'm NOT gonna post pictures of the 12, yep 12 that I cranked out!!!
I built a variety of the CMOY circuits all in the chocolate tins, put an add on belt clip on the reverse, made some "Star Quad" interconnex, upped the ps cap values, changed the gains used, used the "TLE rail splitter" AND found my 3rd Edition of Walter Jung's "Audio IC Op-Amp Applications" book ta boot!!! I gave a "hi ender" to my Nephew for his DVD/CD player... a swimmer at PITT... who's constantly in jets come the fall... "Uncle Ralph, this THING is PHAT!!!" (he missed Olympic Trials by less tha 1/2 of a second @ Nationals 2 weeks ago... GREAT Kid!!)
Well, THE DIRT DOZEN ALL SURVIVED @ BIRTH!!! ALL TESTED UP FIRST TIME EVERYTIME!!! Seriously!!
Nary a hum, buzz, click or pop... ope or short circuited and the best thing? The circuit is absolutely STABLE at ANY gain with the OP2132's or NE5532P's (have over 400 5532's on hand from a mixer chip upgrade project years ago... glad I saved `em!! Seeing as Dkey is back ordered on the OP's...LMAO!!!)
I used the "Crusaders (Joe Samples' Group) Live From Tokyo", Quincy Jones' "The Dude", and ChiCago's "Night & Day" (big band tunes) to "bench & burn"!!! That thing took it all in stride... My ears hurt!!! I don't even spend that much time wearing cans in the studio...LMAO!!!
After a breather, I'm going to go the "active mixer" front end... inverting/summing junctions for 2 stereo pairs... probably use the 5532's on the front... unsure what I'll use on the finals... LMAO!!!
Again to all of you herein... a truly GREAT site... I check it daily... and when I have something to post up, I will....
Tangent, again, Super Site that you have & Thank You!!!
The Gaf
Here's some **** fer ya's... lemme see if I can do this right!!
