Hi All,

My First Post Here.
600smile.gif

I recently bought at auction two new Philips Headphones for $100 AUD (~85USD) for the two of them. They are getting delivered this week. Anyway i know One set is the SBC HP1000 which i can find information on and think i did pretty well considering the price i got them for. Does anyone else use the HP1000's i can find very little information on them out in the wild?

The second set the description was a bit vague and does not have a model number but i have attached the picture. Can anyone identify these? The model number is to small to read when zoomed in. Apparently they are a closed design model and i have googled like crazy and cant find them anywhere. I would just like to know what they are before they arrive lol.

Also I am planning to use the HP1000's on my PC. At the moment with onboard Realtek HD sound which i dont believe will do them justice. Any recommendations for a decent soundcard to drive these guys? (budget=200USD)?

Cheers,

Rossco

You should aks here before buy something...for 100$ you can buy koss ksc-75 and akg k81dj and several cd's for example... or even excellent Senn HD 580 + koss ksc-75. Philips headphones are crappy for the most part..

SBC HP830 are the headphone in the photo, I disagree with the last post people should buy what they want. sbc hp1000 are great headphone. They just aren't given praise because they aren't widely available in america. Phlips doesn't distribute much of their higher end stuff in America.

Thanks Nagasaki_Kid! I knew someone would know around here. Now i have to wait for them to arrive.

It was a last minute purchase so i did some quick research on the HP1000 and decided i would bid on the lot. It was a liquidation auction from Philips Australia, they had a fair bit of stuff on offer. So basically i paid $80 AUD for the HP1000s and $20 for the HP830. So i am not going to ring the Auction house just to find out what i paid $20 AUD for.

Cheers,

Rossco

You got cheated man. Phillips headphones aren't usually high quality. You could have purchased much better ones for that price.

The Philips SBC HP1000 are reasonably high quality from what i read. We are talking in australian dollars here. In Australia the akg k81dj cost $119. And the HD580 i dont think there is any way i could get them for less than $100 Aud.
