Tring to find an amp to increase volume on beyerdynamic dt250 250 ohm,
My output is just a headphone out and not the stereo rca type output like on hifi's etc.

Do do I need to go... Yamaha motif es keyboard headphone out using a converter cable(as most amps I see the input is the 2 rca connection) then into a headphone amp?

If your amp has RCA input jacks, this is the type of cable you need:

If your amp has a 1/8 TRS stereo input jack, this is the type of cable you need, this BTW looks like a really well made cable:

What do you mean?
Do you mean that some amps have jack inputs or do you mean that a splitter cable won't work with some amps?

Correct... an RCA "Y" splitter in this scenario will not work if the amp does not have 2x RCA input jacks.

Side note, Keyboard players to me are always the ultimate, digital-gear, tone chasers.  it boggles my mind how these guys keep their brains wired into the digital-midi bit stream of their gear.  Jordan Rudess, the Wizard.
