Mkay, just a quick question. I know right angled mini connectors are good because they put less stress on the input jack of whatever it's connected to. So what's the advantage to a straight mini connector?

mostly just easier to find and mostly cheaper and while some of the older quality/expensive plugs may be superior in construction, possibly sonics, the straight plug is an accident waiting to happen and given a choice with all else equal would go for angled plug for portable use or anywhere the cable weight is high enough to stress the tiny jack

RA connectors direct the wire exit horzontally while the straight ones are vertically. depending on how you store your portable determines which plug may be best. Some portable amplifiers have the line in and headphone out right next to each other and an RA connector may block or prevent an amp to sit properly on a table top. In a case like this a straight angle would be best.
