Hello everybody. I'm somewhat new to this so bear with me. I have owned a pair of skullcandy hesh dj headphone for over a year, and even though I love them, I feel like I need a new pair. I've done some research, but without actually lstening to these headphones and wearing them I can make a definitive decision. I'm looking for headphones that are good for blue to metal and everything in between. I play guitar and bass and I would like better quality so I can hear every part. Also, I'm looking for a comfy pair of headphones (my friend let me try a apair of his Vic firth headphones and they were so much more comfy but the volume was there). I've done some research and this is what I've found (my budget is 50-150 dollars in case one would want to suggest anything else).

Skullcandy skull crushers
seinheiser HD 515
Sony mdrv700 (?) I'm not sure this is exactly right but these are the 150 dollar dj headphones they sell

and that's it for now. I'm very open to suggestions. Again, budget is 50-150 dollars

1.) What is your source?

2.) Skullcandy skull crushers: Won't find any love for Skullcandy products here. Overpriced and underperforming. Not a head-fi favourite combination.

3.) seinheiser HD 515: Skip these, go for the HD555 if you must.

4.) Sony mdrv700: Skip these too, these have been reported to lose out to the V6's. The MDR-V6 is a very good headphone, and can be had much cheaper to boot.

Any other suggestions???

Lets narrow it down some more.

Do you want closed, semi-open, or open headphones?

Do you intend to use them on the go (I.E. is a 12 ft cord an issue)?

guitar and bass, that screams GRADO to me =)

Check them out....i wouldnt look any lower than the SR225...unless your budget is lower.

Ok I'm about Togo to guitar center so I'm gonna go with the Sony one of you suggested. Thanks!

The local guitar center always has a set of HD280s you can try. I still prefer the V6's, but many will disagree.

i dont think you can really find anything worse than the skull crushers for the same money unless you try to.

I think it's between the Skullcrushers and the Boosted Grandes. The Grandes win the ugly contest by a wide margin though, so the Skullcrushers would have to suck something fierce to win this battle.
