I am thinking of getting a Nomad Zen. Can someone explain to me what the process is like to load and transfer music to the Zen.

Can you load complete CD's at one time or must you do it song by song? Must all music that you want to transfer be on your hard disk or can you load directly from a CD? How do you like the labeling and directory of the Zen.

Are you happy with the fidelity?

I thought I saw a posting here a few weeks ago that Dell was offering a fantastic price of $212 shipped. Whats the best deal on the Zen now?

Would any Nomad Zen user be available this weekend to have a telephone conversation with me about its operation. Please PM me with your # and the best time to call or if you prefer I can give you my # Thanks, Steve

as far as i know, you can encode them into mp3s using any encoder, however play ceneter has to be used to transfer them to the zen. it does NOT show up as another harddrive. i've heard nothing but bad things about play center, and many have payed the $25 for notmad explorer.

i just ordered a zen from dell for $230 shipped ($255 -10% off, no tax, no shipping). however it has not shipped yet i think i'm going to cancel it and get a 10 or 15gb ipod. the ipod just has so much going for it, and i might be able to get it at the same price as the zen (my brother works for apple).
