Can anyone give me a quick explanation on how to connect some stereo speakers to my Nomad? I tried setting the Jukebox to the two speakers setting, and put the right and left speaker into the first and second line out, respectively. That didn't work... So, any help as to what I did wrong would be appreciated. It's probably something stupid...

uh.. each of the Line Out ports on the back are Stereo signals... all you need to do is to run a mini to RCA cable to your stereo/amp. get one at Radio shack, best buy, etc

If I understand you correctly, your problem would seem to be the need for *amplification* as well as an adapter. Unless they're self-powered, you can't connect speakers to your Nomad directly. As austonia mentioned, a stereo-miniplug-to-RCA cable connnected to your *amp* is the proper hookup.

Is there any possibility of causing problems by shorting the channels within the jack? Along those lines: sephka, I am very curious as to how you managed to hook unamplified speakers into the jacks of your Jukebox 3!

I hope I didn't sense sarcasm in scrypt's reply

Anyways, the channels weren't shorted, as far as I know...headphones still work in the right jack. And, well, forgive me for the upcoming butchered explanation: The speakers were powered by the main stereo. The mesh-wirey connection from the speakers were hooked into the stereo unit, while the connections which fit into the line-out were connected into the Nomad. Genius, I know.

I was careful not to say (or even imply) anything sarcastic or condescending to you, sephka. I thought I was being exceptionally nice.

Yours was such a rudimentary question (but worthwhile for you to ask) that I felt obligated to answer through the din of impolite silence.

I never hold inexperience against anyone. If you get to know me through my posts, you'll realize that fact.
