NOBLE Savant Thread (Impressions, Reviews, Tours)

Thank you very much!

I was thinking about getting a pair of earphones at the budget of up to $300-ish. Looking for excellent mids with good and punchy bass/sub and sparkly treble, relatively neutral and balanced sound, as well as very detailed.

The question is whether the NOBLE 4 will be enough.

The Noble 4 is geared for reference signature so most of your prerequisites above won't be satisfied.

Based on your description above, the Savant ticks all those boxes. Notice i didn't changed the font size of "as well as very", it's because the Savant is not as analytical as the er4s. It's a bit smoother in the lower treble which is beneficial in reducing sibilance. Fortunately, clarity and detail are not sacrificed. I still find the Savant quite revealing tho not as "sharp" as the er4s.

Also you may want to look at the Noble 3? I haven't heard them but hopefully someone can chime in...

Thanks again for the valuable info. How's the InEar StageDiver 2 / DUNU DN-2000J in comparison?

  (1) The fact people trying to decide if they should get Savant or K10 (btw, these Black Friday Noble deals are quire amazing!), speaks highly of these IEMs.

I have a handful of dual-BA IEMs which are collecting dust, while in my daily review work Savant probably gets more mileage than other headphones that cost 2x as much, either if I use it for comparison to other IEM/CIEM or to check how it pairs up with various DAPs/amps.  Beside the sound which draws you right in, I absolutely love the fitment, literally look forward to pamper my ears after time spent with some CIEMs.  I know it sounds like a cliche, but they literally disappear in your ears, and isolation is second to none; that's why I refer to them as UIEM with CIEM fitment

(2) Makes me very curious about the fitment of the new Kaiser K10U and how they are going to scale it up with 10 drivers.

(1) My thoughts as well. When I started with the Savant I thought to myself....  "The only thing that really competes against the Savant is the K10...." (Luckily I built both)    Any how, when I hear someone say they like the Savant better than the K10, I just grin, when I hear someone say they like the K10 better than the Savant, I grin as well.

(2) For me, the Standard ABS has more "lateral shift" than the K10 UA.   What I mean by lateral shift is, the housing "crawls" its way out of the ear canal over time, as I move my neck, head etc etc.  The K10 UA is slightly longer, the canal is a touch more narrow, fits a touch deeper, just enough such that they remain where they belong. They maintain a stable fit, like what a custom would produce.

Mind you, this is my experience, and anatomically we are all different. YMMV

Ha. Nice description. I guess that might be overdoing it for me. Upgrading from the (much enjoyed) ER4P I did want more bass in my music but sounds like the "bump" might be a bit much in that direction, no?

If it comes to wanting more bass, but remaining within the arena of reference the Savant is the answer.

The 4, has more bass than the Er4, but the 4 will more than likely leave you wishing for more bass.

Thanks for the advice. Makes my blind deaf buying decision a little easier.

Thanks for all the answers guys.  I'm just going to keep the Savants as I do love them.  I will get the Onkyo player when it's released in the US and go from there.  Appreciate everyone...

before or even after you've placed your order contact Brannan, say you want it sent to Gisele Flower [Aid2Hearing UK  address is here: http://www.aid2hearing.co.uk/contact-us ], she's the Noble dealer in the UK.
For my savants, she invoiced me 50pounds (10+40 combined for import duty+forwarding) [UK -> Belgium], didn't have to pay anything to the postman upon receipt. So in your case since you're in the UK, has to be cheaper.

Hello there. Fellow UK Noble fan here.

For the two universal iems I've ordered they ship from California via UPS. Dispatch and delivery has always been very prompt unless Brannan is out of the office at a show somewhere in which case there will be a delay. I've always ordered mine on a Friday and always received the iems on the Monday before 12am. For the universals you should not have to pay tax just standard UPS charges. Cost me a little over £21 each time but the charges have to be paid on delivery not online with UPS. Not sure about any further charges for CIEMS, someone may reply about those.
