Fantastic layering, spacious soundstage and energetic low end is how the Maestro SE has been described and I'm very close to buying one. Is this instead worth the extra $$?
I slightly prefer the Maestro SE, but really enjoy both sets. I think this would be a tough split here in the Bloom office. For my tastes and preferences, the Maestro SE lines up just a bit better, but I wouldn't be complaining if I owned either or!

I unfortunately have not :-/ Its been so long since I've heard Zephyr, I'd really need a comprehensive listen to note my differences. However, from my last listening session, I will say that I enjoy the Onyx much more.

I have! I think I started to like NOVUS the more I listened, though it wasn't a love at first listen like a lot of folks experienced. Bass was certainly the highlight, and is amongst the best bass response I've heard in a flagship IEM.

The sub-bass dominates over the mid-bass, as well as the lower mids. I think this is due to lack of upper mids, which gives clarity.
I managed to listen to Onyx yesterday, it's an interesting model, but as you wrote above it's overpriced, Spartacus is still best Noble model for me

Thanks, appreciate the insights on it. Thought this would be a good set for me since I'm treble sensitive but I was also looking for a balanced or mid-bass focused set, so this may not be for me.

My .02 (and of course everyone else's mileage may vary): The Onyx is really well-tuned such that you'll almost never encounter forward, aggressive treble. The Onyx, in my experience is an in-your-face IEM. Powerful lows, detailed highs. A lot coming at you. IMO - the bass on Onyx is tighter and more controlled. it's very much there and ready to go,
TLDR: if you put Odin and Onyx in front of me, I'd grab the Onyx and walk away.

Sorry, but bass Odin better at everything, it doesn't affect other ranges of sound and has better control. Detailed highs not bad, but after 10Khz have no expansion, making them less informative and airy than another models in this price range.

Yeh to clarify - the Odin has prominent, pretty powerful bass. A much bigger, grander sound. the Onyx bass is quick and tight but pretty tactile. Different flavors really.
