  Thank you for the response.

Are 'brief' breaks sufficient to stop hearing loss?

No, a brief break usually will not. Noise exposure is cumulative, as is hearing damage. It's not that you shouldn't hear >8 hours of continuous sound at 85 dB. You shouldn't hear any more than that over the course of an entire day, if you want to maintain your hearing as best as possible. It's preferable to do as much as possible to minimize exposure to noise if you want to spend long periods of time listening to music throughout the day.

Aaahhhh wish I had noticed that. But wait a sec, did the demo 10 have the different finish as shown on your site? The one handed to me as the 10 (that's the only reason I thought it was the 10) had the same black finish as the others. I have a feeling it may have in fact been the 6, which would explain the bass. Kind of a bummer if everyone at the meet heard the wrong unit.

K10s have lacquered finish, with silver glitter and gold bolts... In short they look different

Good answer.

Follow the more modern NIOSH guidelines, based more more up-to-date research.

Keep in mind that some people's ears get damaged much more easily than this chart suggests.

Interesting fact

Some meds (while still in the body) can make a person more suciptable to noise induced hearing loss, thus making that chart a bit useless.

Unfortunately hearing loss is going to happen, regardless of what we do, due to prebycusus... getting old sucks.

That being said, that doesn't mean folks should just disregard their hearing at all, as we don't need to compound the problem via loud noise exposure or chemical exposure.

For example, there is a chemical called toluene, found in gasoline (among other things as well) & I've often wondered if the folks in Thailand that pump gas for a job have a hearing loss? Some pesticides can harm hearing as well along with a lot of medications.

Vicodin, Rush Limbaugh's drug of choice, can damage your hearing, & he is pretty much a spokes person for that.

Viagra can harm one's hearing as well..... (And no I don't have a personal experience with that)

With a hearing loss established, do the levels and times, change as a result for the person with the loss?

I've never seen any tables specic to a hearing loss, and I imagine it would be difficult to customize a table "per hearing loss" the data would have to be tremendous to do that.

Yes, what I thought too. So in my case with my loss which necessitates wearing aids all the time, I just err on the side of caution and play at a reasonable level as per my ears.  Thanks Doc.....can't wait to visit!

Put in my order for the K10s a couple of days ago and sent my impressions in today. Now comes the wait (I'm particularly impatient so I sprung for the rush order option).

Sorry for your wallet. Welcome to the Noble family. John, Brannan and the whole crew are great to do business with. Rush or not, the wait is the worst part. You can do it! Heh

Anyone received their BTS yet? Early impressions?

Preordered mine but haven't received a ship notice

If you pre-ordered a BTS and have not received tracking information by the end of the day tomorrow (Friday), please reach out and I will investigate.

Got my notice after I went to bed last night.  I ordered it pretty late anyway, I believe after you had said they had arrived in Cali but still had to get labels applied, so I knew earlier orders took priority and that I may end up having to wait until the next batch came through.

Hopefully by the middle of next week, I'll have both my K10s and the BTS and balance will be restored to the force.
