A black honeycomb would look amazing with the Sultan, super classy

Agreed

But

The reality is, that type of material has a tendency to bend/warp.

When it does so, the hexagons lose their shape and possibly people would complain about the imperfect hexagons.

Does that happen over time? I feel like the authenticity of the material should greatly outweigh any imperfections the hexagons might have. I’ve been drooling over the honeycomb designs since forever

No

Just during the build

It can happen while the aluminum mesh is in shipping, being handled, or when the resin is being poured over the mesh.

It can also bend when the material is being cut after it has cured. The blade causes the material to warm up and become pliable, which = warped hexagons.

You may think that's a feature.... and I can appreciate that, but some folks will think that is a "bug."

If u want a one off black matrix Sultan...

Just send a PM and we can make that happen.

(We will do our best to keep the hexagons maintaining their shape, that said I cant guarantee perfect hexagons)

Just brought the Khan as it was stored with the SP1000. Who travels right now! Paired it up with Antipodes and TT2 for todays listening. What a wonderful iem. I really like the treble sparkle and the bass rumble when required. The longer nozzle than my other iems also makes for an easy fit and seal.

Actually found the treble to be the weak link with the khan. Its way overdone , dry and piercing. Im pleased to see that its seem to have been corrected with the sultan.

It could be the tips you were using. The white foamies smooth out the fr. I actually use 64Audio silicones on the Khan which open to reveal the full nozzle port. They solidify the bass and smooth the treble for my canals. I use the stock cable as I am a stock cable believer and only change for ergonomics.

I always judge iems based on high end silicone tips like sedna and final e tips. Obviously foam tips are known treble killers but if u need to use foam tips then you know there are issues in the treble to begin with.

OK, not for you. I’ll stick with my impressions.
