which iem is that, and what cable is that
looks so solid amazing
i read the review, very nice, was wondering how savanat 2 compares to savana
also bout the cable, is that the new 8 core noble cable, on the website I see we can not choose 4.4 mm balanced, hope we can ask for termination options
i am still trying to hunt a used encore brass edition, when i auditioned it , it was simply amazing, but i guess the hunt will take too long
I didn't spend very long with the Savanna in all honesty, but it immediately struck me as an IEM with instrumental preference. Vocals sounded alright but a bit distant. The Savant is somewhat more complete imo/more well rounded
can i ask would you choose the savant 2 over any of the massdrop offerings?
Now I know its not fair but how u would compare savant 2 to encore , so I have a reference as I auditioned the encore both brass and regular editions
Can I be more specific in my question, you mention you are opposite of a basshead, does this mean the savant is shy on bass?
and if you know about the cable if we can choose 4.4 balanced
Hmmm I can't comment on the Massdrop as I haven't heard those.
I can't remember the exact bass quantity on the Encore, but I'd say the Savant II is quite similar in that respect to the Katana, not too much bass but very good in quality. Mostly flat imo. Katana does vocals way, way better, much cleaner, much more intimate and absolutely mouth watering. Way more treble extension too and it can do those piercing and oh-so-lovely highs where the Savant II struggles
I generally speaking hate when I get loads of bass quantity as it really messed with my head. I've gone to great lengths to kill the bass on the 64 Noir for example
M3. cable shipped with it. I'm sure John can give more details
listening to Daft Punk's Instant Crush right now (from chord dave).
compared to my ciem Katanas, it sounds like i'm listening to a sony z1r headphone. bass is monstrous (not in a bad way). need to try different tips to see if that changes
From what I was told they're using a completely new driver that hasn't been used in any IEM before - it involved two magnets in some array, but I am not sure exactly how it worked.
It also has really good treble imo but the mids feel so recessed....
The Savant II plays the safe route; its consumer-friendly sound, albeit one that's tuned very, very well, certainly hits the right notes for most people.
The M3, on the other hand, was a really fun and engaging IEM. Off hand, I can't remember the specifics, but I'm certainly eager to try them again.
Nice! Pretty cable, too. Reminds me of Whiplash's offerings.
That is interesting. I have Custom Encores which I felt were at least as good as the Kahn’s. Any way, good luck.
At this point in time, there has been some product announcements by others in the industry stating the intended use of the particular driver found in the M3. One product has a MSRP of $2,400.
The point is, we might be a pioneer in the use of this particular tech, but it appears as others will be adopting it as well.
The 8 core cable will.come as standard with the M3.
M3 E36 EuroSpec Sedan
Sorry if I missed it, but where can we purchase the new M3 IEM? I don't see it on the website, but it looks like @skootb already received it? More details would be very welcome.
They are starting to roll out. Hong Kong & Korea has some on the way.
Australia, Taiwan and Canada have placed orders.
The focus has been on building for our dealers/distributors rather than building our own inventory due to
1) the volume of orders placed by our distribution network
2) the limited build capacity. The M3 is very labor intensive due to the fact every M3 is hand finished. (The same is true for the Savant II)
If someone wishes to purchase an M3 directly, feel free to contact Noble or send me a PM.
A used brass Encore would probably be a rare find. There was only 150 made and collectors seem to be the main purchasing group acquiring the Brass Encore.
Recently a collector in Taiwan purchased a brass Encore finished in satin gold rather than glossy gold. There was only 2 satin gold ever produced.
I would imagine the brass Encore will maintain its price if not appreciate over time.
Well John, I have thoroughly been enjoying my Katana Joy/Wizard for months. Now that it has a name “M3,” it is time for me to look into owning, enjoying, and obsessing upon the M3.
