They're here! Sound impressions to come. Visually exactly what I wanted. Simple and Understated at first glance but upon closer inspection intricate.

I most definitely do not! I use my old Shure SE215 for the GYM, if you are using the GYM properly you won't be able to notice the sound quality through all the sweat :muscle::persevere::sweat_smile:

So how does it go? New tech makes great strides but old models still have their charms?

To be honest I have been using my K10 CIEMs for the last few days and I have found them less pleasing to use in pretty much every way compared to the Khans.

The fit isn't as comfortable as they are solid acrylic instead of soft silicone. Sound wise everything's just a bit flat, the sound stage is the most noticeable downgrade, it just feels like sound coming straight from the middle of your ears where as the Khans it is a great out of head experience. It isn't like the K10 sounds bad, they are still a massive step up from the Shure SE215 I use for the gym but they just pale in comparison to the Khans.

    YMMV though as always.

I have the craziest story. As the Noble Audio Encore pictures were shot in December of 2017.......I’ve probably had the K-10 Encore since November 2017.

Before purchase, during pre-purchase demos......and even after buying them, I always thought they would be a slight stretch to get into the sound signature. You may ask, well why would you spend $1850 on an IEM if you were not 100% sure about liking it?

Well I always buy stuff on instinct. I just had this feeling after reading reviews and learning about the Encore. So to try and make this story as short as possible; I’ve used the Encore and liked it a lot, but never totally “loved it”.........even at times I thought maybe it just wasn’t my tone? I did have some fit issues and kept trying tips. I purchased an aftermarket cable.....but there was just something that didn’t get it to sound right.

So I finally find some insane fitting tips, you know when you finally find nothing can be better, and they fit absolutely perfect now. Oh.........and a different cable too.

So finally at this point I’m in shock. It’s like waking up and hearing what everyone else hears in the Encore. They are all I’ve used the last week, and seem to be getting even better by the day.

I just want to find someone to thank?

    Thank-you John.

It’s just that the tip fit and cable have somehow dialed in the sound into total perfection. They are well rounded players playing every genre, they have an indescribable magic. I literally walk around all day thinking about them.....even when not using them? Somehow my wife is still all ears with me explaining my paradigm shift at length??

All of us know getting an IEM is slightly a gamble, that they may not fit, that we may learn to become lackluster emotionally after a prolonged listening exposure.

And we all know that in this game if an IEM does not float the boat, it’s technically almost worthless whatever it was priced at. But.......when an IEM works out it becomes something priceless.

Anyway........just had to get that off my chest.......I’ll move along now.

Back to Encore listening........it and the IER-Z1R share equal status in my collection now!

Tips are everything when it comes to universals. I get a lot of practice with them doing the shows. I had one guy at CanJam Socal that I could tell he wasn't happy. When talking to him he said there wasn't any bass in the Khan, I knew this was a tip issue. After putting in the white memory foam tips in the correct size, I saw the smile come alive. It took 3 or 4 tries with different tips and sizes.
