Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

  1. skylinekursk
    Hi guys,
Just received my Noble 6 earphones. Have only 2 hours listened on my AK Kann through hybrid balance cable. 6 is not give WOW effect. I changed my previous earsonics sm64 to Noble 6. My first impression that something wrong with the 6 after sm64 - not much lows, mids are not clear and hights are missed at all. After short period I used 6 I started get used to their warm sound with accurate bass. One thing took print in my mind - guitars are very angry on metallcore!
About soundstage... I still think sm64 is wider but 6 is goes deeper. I've read few reviews on 6 and guys wrote that brain should get used to how 6 delivering sound...
That's my short IMHO and i'll come back after few days of experience with my first Noble earphones...
Sorry for my English guys, i'm not native speaker...)
have a good day to all...

I found the same when I first got my K10s as an upgrade from my Westone W60 but after a while you realise the finer points of them and all the detail is there just not so in your face. Try listening to the 6 for a week or so then go back to your older ones and see how you find the difference. Or you might just prefer your old ones nothing wrong with that :)

In the new packaging, are the tips no longer presented in a cardboard? Mine are placed in a small zip plastic bag.

Also I just got an ares ii and it appears that inserting them requires a bit of a force compared to the stock ones. Is that normal?

I ordered a wizard Katana in October. Looking forward to seeing what you came up with...

The ear tip holder thingy is getting phased out

And NO for the folks that are alarmed

The typical build time for a wizard katana is not several months. This particular wizard katana order is being built with material that we had to special order

Have now ordered my Kaiser Encore. Went for a lookbook reprint in the end as it matches exactly what I would have wanted from a wizard:

Had my ear moulds done with Gisele this morning, so now just a long, tortuous wait!

Does Gisele work all day saturday's then? Had thought about popping up to London in the past, but didn't think she did weekends? Mind you that does mean getting the train from the south coast to london which adds about an extra £100 or so and then the actual molds, so it all does start to add up :frowning2:

Anyway good luck with the fit!

I don’t think she does all day Saturday, seemed to be more as and when needed. Best thing is to drop her an email, she is very responsive and helpful.

Lucky man! The wait is tough but so worth it for years of wonderful listening. :)

Would the train really cost that much of you book in advance? Even if it does I would not let that stop you getting a pair of Ciems, especially Kaisers if you possibly can. You couldn't find a better audiologist to do your impressions than Gisele IMO.

Thanks. It's about £126 for 2 people return from where I am booking in advance. Add that to the cost of the impressions which is what £70 for 2 sets as I understand it and things soon start too add up in a hurry! I've heard nothing but good things on various ciem threads about Gisele's service and would love to get a set of impressions done there, but it's just a bit of hassle getting up there (add in time off work, more impending railworks and so on!). Had seriously been planning to get up for canjam last year but the railworks put that idea on hold. Still a bit p***ed off with that one tbh!

She did mine on a weekend but it was at her house not at her place in Central London, met her daughter who was quite funny, I guess she is around 6. Let me demo some headphone on a sofa in her kitchen before we did the moulds and then sorted out order details.

Canjam is great fun but if I was having impressions done I would want to do them in a quiet environment with full concentration on getting the best possible result. Good impressions are crucial to a good fit.
Gisele often has universal versions of the various models so it's also a good opportunity to audition.

It's not that complicated. You bite down on a bite block and just wait for the silicon to cure in your ears while wiping your drool from your mouth. External sound has zero impact in getting your impressions. The only variable is the skill and experience of the person who is taking your ear impressions.
