Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

One simple question, Does the sage have more bass than the Savanna? I wanted absolute vocal clarity. It seems Savanna/Encore is the way to go? I am currently leaning towards the Savanna. I have demo the Savanna/Encore already, but not the Sage yet.

From what everyone else has said the Sage will have more bass. The Encore has INSANELY good imaging and detail. Matches Planar Magnetic in my experience. Not the most forward but it gets clearer after burn in. The entire lineup is clear vocally. Even the Dulce Bass has REALLY good vocals even with the huge bass.

Sage's vocals are very present and powerful, but nowhere near as clear, transparent, and detailed as Encore. Sage's bass is also bigger than Encore's.

I have not heard Savanna, sorry.

If you want a one trick pony, get the savanna

If you want something that plays many genres well, get the sage

If you want something that plays many genres awesomely well, get the encore

A brief follow up on my post from 30th of August. The hiss was caused by the cell phone interference. Hopefully Poly will help to reduce this issue to bare minimum.

I want to share a side by side comparison of Katana and Sage. It is incredible how Noble could fit 9 drivers in a such small enclosure.

Loving the Katana as an IEM more and more. There are tons of albums where these really shine. From artists Dire Straits, Pink Floyd in Hi-Res are a real treat. But don't be fooled a standard Flac CD quality if mastered well gives a very pleasurable and immersive experience. Especially loving Katie Melua Piece by Piece album, Beck Sea Change, or anything from Lionel Richie.

Since I have Katanas I found my self spending a lot more time with listening to music.

BLOODY HELL. That IS smaller. Very Tardis-like. God know what Wizardly powers it took to shoehorn those nine drivers in there.

lol. The U12 is quite a bit smaller than Encore. And somehow, 64Audio made the U18 even smaller still.

I may want to play around with some different Knowles dampers in my Katana, but I don't want to damage it by doing so. Is there a god way to remove the little silicon tube stopper without damaging it? Is it glued in place?

    Thanks!

I can just imagine your face when you read what he was planning.

I have a lot of experience with tuning and using Knowles dampers though, but I understand why you would discourage it.

After extensively demoing the Savanna, I come to a conclusion that the Savanna is a great pair of earphones for acoustic and vocals. But my ears are spoiled by all the gears that I have. I have no choice other than moving my selection up a tier to Sage/Katana/Encore. After 2 hours of listening on the Savanna, I switched to the Katana and instantly I can hear the wow factor in these. At the same time I can hear my wallet moaning due to a foreseeable physical pain.

I'm travelling, and on this trip I have 3 universals with me, two of which are skunk works projects, and I am very pleased with them both of them as they accomplish their design goals like a champ.....

but when I reach over, pluck the Katanas off the desk.... nestle them into my ears......

    I get the "WoW" sensation.
