I was looking at the Master Blaster Headphone by Nixon. It looks well designed and comfortable. Retail is about $250. Has anyone heard one of these? I wouldn't expect them to have top notch sound but they do intrigue me.

Note there is also a frequency response chart on the site which might give some clues as to its performance. HEADPHONES - Nixon Watches and Accessories at nixonnow.com

They look really cool, but I bet they don't sound any good and aren't worth the money. But on the other hand it's more of a cool accessoire than an hifi headphone.

The pads look odd... perhaps they're designed to give insane bass quantities?

gizmodo compares them to some low-end sony 'phones & they don't fare well...

i really like the record-looking outside finish...& the use of leather...but i'm bettin' they sound terrible...looks like something expensive for someone who hasn't yet discovered the hobby...

something expensive for people who have no idea what they are buying....... just like 99% of "luxury" products in the world

Are they trying to copy the XB series from Sony?

Influenced my opinion slightly more positive, plus the volume control might be the coolest thing ever

Its good he compared it to a respected can such as the SR60. The fact that it did well against the SR60 is another good sign. I still agree the price is steep for what you get but they might not sound half bad after all.

My friend possess these phones and the sound is as overpriced as the Dr. Dre beats (not good). They are not comfy at all since the pads are rock hard. It looks like they have been stuffed with sox until the pad is full.

Yeah, but they do a pretty good job of running Bartertown.

FINALLY! I was just about to post with my surprise that no one made the mad max reference yet.
