Awesome-ness. Although I look forward to the 2-channel more than the surround.

First of all, I rejoice! One of the best albums to be released in high-res, and I look forward to what he's going to do for the surround remix. Quote:

Even if you did, would you believe it?

Bleedthrough -- this is all I know

Very cool indeed, however, I'm not going to buy a SACD player yet just for this release, still not enough SACD material out there... is it possible to buy the SACD and rip it in any way / play it on PC ?? I don't think you can, just asking

Not yet.

If you have a way to rip analog multi-channel input, you could, but what's the point? Might as well just listen to the CD 2-channel layer.

Well, high-rez 2 channel layer is what I would be interested in.

Are you saying the 2 channel of a SACD would work like a normal CD? Like a HDCD?

Unless it's a hybrid SACD with a regular 16/44.1 CD layer, there's no way to rip SACD hi-rez content to your hard drive.

I've got my finger on the trigger of an SACD player with this news. Wait, I only have a two-channel set up!

What's wrong with two-channel set up? By the majority of written accounts most multi channel music is not working as intended. Apparently it's distracting and unnatural. Only a minority of surround discs have been done properly with the rear speakers providing atmosphere, etc.

I guess I'm somewhat of a purist but I think what was recorded and intended to be two-channel stereo, probably sounds best played back as two-channel stereo. Future productions with surround sound taken into account while in the recording studio, now that's a different story.

I'm perfectly content with only two-channel high-rez stereo. I've just been impatiently tapping my foot with arms crossed waiting for something worth listening to this long time.

I'm with you Eyeteeth,my SCD-1 plays the music just like I want to hear it.Maybe multi-channel in the future, but I could live without it.I just got this off of AA.This is going to be one hell of a release.Gary.
Disc one of "The Downward Spiral: Deluxe Edition" is a hybrid CD/Super Audio CD that features the original 14-track album digitally remixed and remastered in 5.1 surround sound. Disc two boasts 13 digitally remastered remixes and rarities, including demos for "Ruiner," "Heresy" and "Liar," plus an early version of the hit single "Closer."

Can ears salivate?
Cause mine are doing the equivalent.
I hate to seem greedy but when's 'The Fragile' coming?

Edit:come to think of it, 'The Fragile' is already a rather outstanding recording in redbook.
