Any chance there will be a Duality CIEM available in the near future?

I’ve seen concern in various forums about how much power is required to drive Duality. The R8II seems to drive it effortlessly. I’m able to stay on Medium Gain/Turbo Mode and the volume dial is set just over 60. They make an impressive pairing.

I'll throw in some impressions here; been using since Friday night and it's a quality piece of kit! Fits greats after some minor tip experimentation.

It's definitely a challenge to drive, SE300 starts to distort at around 110/150 Vol on High Gain. I'll edit this with a dB value after I measure its actual effective volume amount later. Thank to @FcConstruct for lending me his Fiio Q7 to take advantage of this this fully for a bit! The poor RU7 starts to clip over 50/100 Vol unfortunately, which I think translates to just under 75dB, which I find a bit too quiet for my tastes when rocking out to Duality.

I do really like the Balance tune, its really quite normal sounding (though I'm prob a basshead) to me, could easily listen to a full range of music genres (maybe even more so then Singularity) and even non-bassheads would fine it an easy listen. Regardless of which setting you choose, it's really shocking how good the timbre is on this no matter how much that bass driver is pushing. It's like you're sitting in front of a close pair of speakers and then there is a this sub behind you just doing it's own thing; really cool experience.

Great stuff @Chang

Nightjar knows how to get the most out of DD timbre.

Is it harder to amplify than Singularity?

Definitely. But it’s not like it’s an HE-6 or something.
iirc @Chang said that it’s as hard as /harder to drive that susvara

then again duality will definitely scale with more power, especially if you’re planning to use it with the impedance adapters

Duality was so fun to listen to at Socal CanJam. It's going to stay attached to my brain.

R8II is one of the best DAPs for Duality! I've been going around testing as many devices as possible to see what Duality does and doesn't like. So far there's quite a good spread. There are even a few dongles that do a fairly good job. I'll be posting a list in the coming days, it's non exhaustive of course, but I'll be updating the list as I find more devices.

In terms of sensitivity, yes, but in terms of drivability not as much. What I mean being headphones like Sus and HE6 can be quite source picky and might not sound great even if they can be driven to a loud enough volume. Duality still exhibits some of that fussiness, especially in the bass, but not nearly to the extent as the Hifimans do.

Generally you can say that Duality gets exponentially harder to find a source for, the louder you listen. I've been testing Duality at extremes but I suspect for most use cases, most modern devices with a decent amount of power will do just fine.
