Right now my current setup is the following...

Flac and 320kbs mp3s from my computer to a Porta Corda Move amp via a standard usb cable. Then from the Move to my HD 580s via the stock cable.

What would you upgrade next (reasonably?)

The next upgrade would be going to lossless audio for all your content, in my opinion.

To be honest I can't really tell the difference between properly encoded 320kbps mp3s and lossless on most recordings.

Yea, I'm looking for a store in the DC metro area to audition other cans.

Hmm, it still seems to me that the best way to reach as close to perfection as possible is to have the maximum source information. I would consider what it a better headphone could do for you in this case. Ask yourself what improvement you're looking for there. It seems like the hardware you have now would be able to do a good job of producing the audio. As such, it seems that you'd be looking for small nuances if you spend more, and I don't know that you'll find those nuances with loss-based compression. Just my 2¢.
