As far as I know I'm open the 17th. Sundays are probably best for me, even though I generally wake up well into the afternoon and spend the rest of the day rubbing my head. ... I suppose I can make an exception for a Head-Fi meet.

Well, you know my answer -- I'll try and be there, but I'm moving that weekend. I'll try to be done Saturday (it's not a major move). I didn't know this until this morning, BTW.

It'll depend upon my workload, but I'm interested in meeting some of the good people of Head-Fi.

Durn it! I missed the last Hirsch-head-fi-fest, and things don't look great for the 17th...will be occupied (babysitting... my wife will be out of town until late afternoon/early evening on the 17th). Not available on the 16th. The weekend before looks better for me.

I should be able to be there. Now that Hirsch has his Fisher 400 working, I'm glad I won't have to schlepp mine over to his place again.

I think I will bring my Marantz 1070 integrated amp instead. Not as heavy as either the Fisher tube stuff or a Marantz 2200 series receiver, and more compact too.

Just so we can do some planning, I'm going to lock in on the 17th. We may have to arrange an evening show for Bruce! The only alternative is to push it back a few weeks, and try for the interval between Thanksgiving and the Holidays. That's an awkward time to do this, with a lot of people travelling, which is why I'm aiming for before Thanksgiving.

Hirsch, I'm looking for a babysitter to cover the afternoon! It's either that, or I could bring my 3 year old with me.

Start time on the 17th is 1 pm. I'll email or PM directions out the weekend before. If anyone wants to show up an hour or so early and help me lug amps around, I won't complain

My headphones:

AKG K-1000
Audio Technica ATH-W2002
Grado Labs HP-1
Grado Labs RS-1
Sennheiser HD-600
Sony MDR CD-3000
Sony MDR-F1
Sony MDR-R10

My amps:

EAR HP4
Berning MicroZOTL
Melos SHA-1
Musical Fidelity X-Can v2/X-PSU/modded op amp
Grado RA-1
Grado HPA-1
Fisher 400

One of the reasons I like to host these is that the thought of schlepping all of those around scares me.

I'm contemplating reducing my number of headphones and amps to a sane number, so odds are good my collection will be significantly smaller next time around. Don't miss this meet!

Some odd devices that may be fun to play with:
Bedini Ultra Clarifier
TDS Passive Audiophile
Musical Fidelity X10-D tube buffer
a massive collection of LP and CD treatments and cleaners

In addition, the Creek CD53 is a new source that may be fun to evaluate. The Virtual Dynamics Nite power cords and interconnects should be there, along with many others.

Let us know what you're planning to bring!

So what can everyone bring? I'll be metroing/biking my way there, so I can't bring anything big. But I can bring along my Grado HP-2, Sony MDR-V6, and unmodded ART DI/O. Hirsch already has an HP-1 and modded ART DI/O there, so that probably won't help for anything more than nitpicky A/Bs, but whatever.

Hirsch, do you have a SACD player?

By the way, there have been six pretty solid confirmations in this thread, with two more guys sitting on maybe. I've PMed four more Head-Fiers who live in the area that haven't checked in here yet. Want me to email them? (The four are Kubernetes, Bobby C, Lockheed, and Squalish. If you know of more, let me know or forward them the PM I sent out.)

We could potentially end up with double-digit attendence, making this one of the larger Head-Fi meets. Think that warrants a call to HeadRoom, Hirsch? Apparently none of us own any of their gear, so it could be worthwhile if it's not too much of a hassle. As I'm coming up fast on an amp purchase, I'd also love to hear some of the Mapletree models. I may drop Dr. Peppard a line.

Oh -- not sure how I forgot -- I also have a pair of Grado SR-80 sitting in my drawer. They haven't been getting much use since my HP-2 showed up. And I can bring my Panasonic SL-CT570 PCDP and JVC XM-R70 PMDP/R. I'll bring a digicam to take pictures, too, so we can show off like the Dallas and Chicago boys.
