From what I understand, black gates as of 8/06/07, are officially discontinued (for real).

Soon will be hard to come by.

So what other brands are just as good (or better) than BG?

I need two 47uf (6v) caps for a mod I have going on.

badcaps (dont remember address, google it) had a list of good and bad capacitors, but the best next thing is solid capacitors or digital VRM´s,

i use to check boards i bought for G-luxon and OST caps to know i should recap or avoid, which are common cheap bloating caps,

and try to buy boards with solid capacitors, rubicons, nichicons or panasonic/matsu****a, but that was a couple of years ago, dont know the current quality of those.

You haven't specified where you use them at. So the answer would be it depends on situations.

But it feel like you're implying it in audio signal path, I would say... try elna silmic II when you can't find BG.
