Hey guys, I'm new here and am really getting into headphones nowadays. After being tired of my white ipod earbuds breaking on me, I decided it might be time to go high end. I have a budget of ~$250 to $270. I am looking for an around the ear headphone (in-ear would be fine too, but prefer around the ear) (sorry I'm not that good with terms just yet). I've read a ton of reviews for different pairs and am VERY confused. I listen to mainly rap/hip hop, but I listen to TONS of other types of music too (so good all-rounder headphones would be nice). I am gonna be travelling with them a lot (taking them to school), so something not so bulky would be nice. Active noise cancellation is not a must, but it is nice. Also, it'd be nice if they didn't leak too bad cause I often listen to my music in silent areas with other kids studying around and am not fond of the idea of people hearing my music. Lastly, they should be durable and comfortable cause I'm tired of having to buy headphones=/. Some of the ones I have been interested in:

-Monster Beats by Dr Dre line (studios, solos, tours, mainly the studios) (These get GREAT reviews from everywhere except this site:p)
-Grado SR225i Prestige Series Headphone (I really like these, but they would cost me WAY too much cause I am in Canada)

Thats about all I could pull out. Also, I just listen to music off my iphone and like bass. Thanks for any help and sorry for the HUGE post!

Rap+Hip Hop+$250 = Ultrasone HFI-780. I have not heard them, but that is what I have gathered from the forums. Look up some reviews.

If you really want SR225's and live in BC, I know Commercial Electronics has Grados. But i'm not sure if they have the new i models.

If you want around ear (circumaural) from what I've read Ultrasone would suit you well. If you're looking for an In ear (IEM/ECH) Sennheiser's IE8 fits the bill for you.

If you don't want the people around to be listening to your music with you, you don't want Grado as they are open and leak like a bucket with the bottom cut out.
